Parting Shot

Deno's Wonder Wheel Park will now be closed until next Spring. It's such a family friendly place, so colorful, so much fun. Hopefully, the property next door formerly known as Astroland (then "Dreamland") will be developed into an equally enjoyable and affordable amusement park. The spirit of Coney lives and cannot be destroyed!

Final Weekend at Deno's Wonder Wheel Park

If you haven't had an opportunity to visit Deno's Wonder Wheel Park this season, take advantage of this holiday weekend to enjoy it. Otherwise you'll be waiting until next Spring.

Sea Creature?

I happened upon this carving of a mermaid in the sand. Not pictured is an adjacent carving of another creature I can only describe as part human, part horse. A bystander informed me that he had observed the artist(s) at work, they are art students and this was a homework assignment! You see the most amazing things at Coney Island.

Fog Lifting

Heavy fog enveloped the beaches at Coney Island for about an hour, I thought I was at the edge of the world. The ocean had disappeared! I took this shot as the fog began to lift.
