I haven't been to Coney Island for awhile, maybe I got too depressed from all the destruction and dismantling of Astroland. Today, however, the sun brought me back. After sunbathing on the beach, I took a stroll on the boardwalk which is just outrageous, it should have been fixed by now. But really, you can't kill Coney, it's a national institution, people will just keep coming. Meanwhile, away from the boardwalk are signs of more construction to come, who knows what the future holds. There is a spiritual quality and the mystique of history about the place, it will always rise again.
