Bridge Over Troubled Waters?

Troubled, no. Smelly? The Gowanus Canal is "fragrant", even in the wintertime. I took these shots both on, and near, the Ninth Street Bridge.

Disrespect

As I often do, I took a stroll through the amusement area of Coney Island yesterday, it saddens and angers me to watch as construction workers tear down pieces of history. This is the Shore Hotel/Henderson Building which will shortly be just memories. The beautiful, stately old Bank of Coney Island is already gone. There's no respect of historical value. It's the money, honey.

Wild and Windy

Took a long walk on the beach at Coney today, a few hardy souls out and about in the cold. Very invigorating.

WSB

Not a great idea to take pictures while driving, but I couldn't resist getting this shot of the Williamsburg Savings Bank from Fourth and Atlantic Avenues.

Strolling The Boardwalk

Since I go to St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Coney Island on Sunday mornings, I make sure I get some shots on the boardwalk before the service. Not sure that "killing two birds with one stone" is a politically correct expression but you know what I mean.

Wanna Get Depressed?

Took a stroll in Coney Island today, a whole lotta changes going down. One thing that's going down fast is the stately old Bank of Coney Island on West 12th Street, more to follow.

Meditation

Yes, I admit I'm addicted to the beach. I always return to Coney Island, no matter where else I go. It's a never ending show and doesn't cost a thing.

Solitude and Peace

I felt as though I was intruding on this man's space, but he seemed blissfully unaware of my presence.

Watercolor Skies

Very few people at the beach today, just some "diehards" like me, and some fishermen.

What better place to chill out on a rainy day than the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

To say that I'm obsessed with Coney Island is accurate. Here are the Cyclone and Luna Park.

Keeping It Green in Coney Island

Gardening at the community level is alive and well in Coney Island. Many people know Coney Island as a world famous and historical amusement area, plus the boardwalk and the beaches. But Coney has another side: its community gardens. Pictured here are the Boardwalk Garden (top) (Boardwalk at West 22nd Street) and Surfside Garden (bottom) (Surf Avenue at West 29th Street). Keeping it green!

Lazy Summer Day - Part Two

Fishing and boating in Prospect Park. Come and enjoy the many cultures of Brooklyn, side by side in the Park. It's a wonderful place for children and hey, we're all just big kids at heart.
