Had to take my car to my mechanic on 39th Street. While he worked on the car, I walked around and got shots of this tremendous warehouse on 2nd Avenue and 40th Street, and some light and shadow play underneath the Gowanus Expressway.

Bridge Over Troubled Waters?

Troubled, no. Smelly? The Gowanus Canal is "fragrant", even in the wintertime. I took these shots both on, and near, the Ninth Street Bridge.

Disrespect

As I often do, I took a stroll through the amusement area of Coney Island yesterday, it saddens and angers me to watch as construction workers tear down pieces of history. This is the Shore Hotel/Henderson Building which will shortly be just memories. The beautiful, stately old Bank of Coney Island is already gone. There's no respect of historical value. It's the money, honey.

Wild and Windy

Took a long walk on the beach at Coney today, a few hardy souls out and about in the cold. Very invigorating.
