Disrespect
As I often do, I took a stroll through the amusement area of Coney Island yesterday, it saddens and angers me to watch as construction workers tear down pieces of history. This is the Shore Hotel/Henderson Building which will shortly be just memories. The beautiful, stately old Bank of Coney Island is already gone. There's no respect of historical value. It's the money, honey.

That sucks, but it's true. Everything is about the benjamins. At least you were able to take a picture. That's something. Nice blog.
ReplyDeleteYour so right - such beautiful architecture can not be saved. Easy to tear down and build new - how about RESTORATION and teach your kids history in your own neighborhood.
