I haven't been to Coney Island for awhile, maybe I got too depressed from all the destruction and dismantling of Astroland. Today, however, the sun brought me back. After sunbathing on the beach, I took a stroll on the boardwalk which is just outrageous, it should have been fixed by now. But really, you can't kill Coney, it's a national institution, people will just keep coming. Meanwhile, away from the boardwalk are signs of more construction to come, who knows what the future holds. There is a spiritual quality and the mystique of history about the place, it will always rise again.

On this beautiful Easter Monday I took a walk in Bay Ridge, got a detail shot of the "Gingerbread House" on Narrows Avenue and 83rd Street, then crossed over the 81st Street overpass and took a photo of the shore path, looking north.

A stunning early Spring day, had to get out with my camera, took a walk by the ballpark at 75th Street and Shore Road, then got a shot from the 81st Street overpass, looking north toward the Belt Parkway and Manhattan.

Happy Palm Sunday! A beautiful day in Brooklyn, especially by the waterfront at Sheepshead Bay. The fishing party boats are gearing up for a busy season ahead. Take a stroll along Emmons Avenue, enjoy the sea air, check out the local stores and restaurants.

When, oh Lord, are we going to give up the guns? When are we going to be delivered from the hands of the NRA and other powerful gun lobbies? How many more innocents will be slaughtered and the President of the United States expresses "sadness" but does nothing? We are not living in the Old West here. We have a well ordered militia which is guaranteed in the Second Amendment. We are not empowered to blow each other's brains out. I don't apologize for this rant, I am just sick to death of the whole shootin' match.
